SENIOR PENSION PLAN ADVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

The incumbent oversees participating employer’s application of, and compliance with, regulations of the defined benefits pension. The incumbent provides ongoing training on the specific characteristics of the pension plans to clients of his or her department and maintains good business relationships. They contribute significantly to the development and maintenance of a corporate culture that values cooperation and satisfaction of clients’ needs. At all times, the incumbent acts with tact and diplomacy.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Ensure employers are respecting the membership of participants according with the eligible job categories for each employer member assigned to them.

  • Plan training sessions with selected employers in collaboration with the Pension Plan advisor.

  • Make complex verifications with employers following analyses carried out by the actuarial department during the annual conciliation or during the production of benefit calculations (significant variation in salary, type of absence, date of the absence, payable time).

  • Present the Annual review to the employer’s General Manager and make sure to highlight the aspects that are working well and those that could be improved.

  • Provide training to employers on the Plan regulation by presenting support documents for the training of employer resource.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, actuarial sciences, human resources or a related field.

  • Minimum of four to seven years of experience in the administration of pension plans and customer service.

  • Excellent knowledge of French and English.

  • Good communication skills and ability to simplify complex or abstract concepts.

  • Ability to persuade and provide positive guidance to clients.

  • Prepared to travel on a regular basis.

  • Good public speaking and communication skills.

  • Excellent writing skills.

OTHER COMPENSATION

  • Participation in a defined benefit pension plan;

  • The gross annual salary for this position is between $86,940 and $119,490 and varies according to the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills;

  • Three weeks of vacation time, plus two paid weeks off during the holiday season.
