The Native Benefits Plan (NBP) is an Aboriginal organization that seeks to be a benchmark in pension fund management and an expert in fringe benefits for First Nations of Quebec. Since its establishment in 1979, the NBP has focused on improving the financial independence of First Nations members.
The job holder, under the executive directors’ supervision, manages the information technology (IT) department, including software and infrastructure development. They are skilled in management, software development and information security whilst understanding the organization’s needs. They play a key role in developing our computer systems, aligning the IT initiatives with the strategic goals, managing the relationships with partners and suppliers while embodying the organization’s mission, vision and values. They instill a collaborative culture, act with respect and diplomacy and uphold strict privacy principles.
They are responsible for overseeing all computer operations, which includes managing IT solutions in production, resolving major incidents and keep an eye on new technology to explore new innovations. They also manage partners, contract negotiations and review the performance of suppliers.
In addition, they supervise the development and maintenance of systems, overseeing the design, testing and deployment of internal software, whilst assessing the different priorities and developing policies for data and operations. Finally, managing the infrastructure and security is crucial and includes capacity planning, cost optimization, ensuring regulatory compliance, integrating good practices to allow the continuity of our services, developing a security strategy to reduce risks and train the employees.
On a management standpoint, the position requires transparency with stakeholders, good financial management including budgeting, recognizing opportunities and collaborating with our external auditors and various stakeholders. Human resources management implies assessing workforce needs, leadership and team management. The job holder will also need to evaluate their employee’s contributions.

The annual salary is based on the salary scale in place. The positioning varies depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications and skills;

Based on the required qualifications, the NBP prioritizes hiring and promoting First Nations and Inuit employees. The priority will then be extended to non-native employees, First Nations and Inuit members outside of the organization, and then to the general population.
