ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent maintains the accounting ledgers for RBA Financial Group organizations.

The incumbent will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, payroll and payments made to members. The incumbent is also responsible for digitizing administrative documents for the department and all other tasks related to accounting.

The incumbent will assist the accounting analyst with deposit accounting preparation and tax slips. The incumbent will also be responsible for sending monthly information on the taxable benefits of group insurance packages and helping the accounting analyst prepare the taxable benefits file. Finally, the incumbent will prepare government remittances bimonthly.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • College-level degree (D.E.C.) in a field related to accounting;
  • Two to four years of experience in accounting;
  • Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Suite software;
  • Knowledge of fringe benefits.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK WITH THE TEAM

  • Set up new accounting software procedures
  • Gather invoices, prepare payment batches and make payments
  • Collect all payroll-related documents and enter them into the system
  • Process weekly payment requests
  • Generate monthly annuity batches
  • Prepare and account for deposits and tax slips
  • Bi-monthly remittance of deductions at source

  • The gross annual salary for this position is between $51,555 and $70,980 andvaries according to thecandidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills;
